Boys are gross.

It's the first time I've looked at my little boy and been disgusted by him.
It was last Wednesday. We had a busy week full of doctor and dentist appointments, parent/teacher conferences, music lessons, etc.
On Wednesday I had to take Madi in to get an expander put in the roof of her mouth. It's the first of many orthodontist visits over the next several years. Poor Madi and Saige inherited Brett's small mouth + my giant crooked beaver teeth. Anyway, I had to take the babies with us and wake them from their naps to pick her up from school, feed them lunch in the waiting room, etc. I'm trying to paint the picture that it was stressful.
We got home from the appointment and picked Saige up at the bus stop. I went to get the babies out of their car seats and they had both peed clear through into the car seat. Yep. In all the craziness I had forgotten to change their diapers. They were both acting really tired so I took their pants off, put dry diapers on, and tucked them in for a nap. They were really quiet for about 1/2 hour. I was so excited thinking that they were going to have a second nap. Heaven knows they needed it (and so did I). I went in to check on them because someone was talking. I didn't want that baby to wake the other one so I went in to find a binkie. I took one look at Sydney and she had her diaper half-way off and there was poop in it. I quickly took her to the changing table and changed her diaper. She fights me now so it took awhile. Then I had to find her some new pants. Crisis averted.
WRONG!
Syd had been copying someone else. Dalton had his diaper completely off. He had pooped. He had peed. It was ALL OVER him. All over his shirt, arms, legs, face. It was all over his crib-on EVERY slat, all over the sheets. I didn't even know where to start. I went straight to the tub to start the water for a bath. While I was doing that I sent Saige into their room to get something. She was only in there a second and I heard her scream, "MOM! There is poo all over the floor"!
He had picked up some of the poop and thrown it all over the room. The carpet is brown so the only way to find it was to feel around. I took me an hour to clean their room. By the time Brett got home that night (at 8:30) you can imagine the kind of mood I was in!
I am not above using duct tape to keep their diapers on in the future if it comes to that!

We're bustin' out!!

These babies are very mischievous. Every day they come up with a new plan to break free. We have had to move several toys out because they use them to stand on to get over the gate. We have had to bolt the gate to the walls and floor because they have worked together to tip it over a couple of times. We have had to take all of the knobs off our entertainment center because they pull the drawers open and climb into them. They also open the doors and hang on them which has made it so that several won't close.
Yesterday I had to remove all of the blinds in the living room because I found Syd all tangled up in the cords. She had pushed the chair over to the high chair and climbed up the chair and then into the high chair. that made her tall enough to reach the cords that I wound around and around the blinds to make it so they couldn't reach them.

One day Brett came home and found our living room completely empty. I moved all of the chairs out and the barstools because dalton almost tipped one over on Syd. Syd can climb up the high chairs now so those were gone too. He looked puzzled and then tried to go in to our bedroom. The door was locked. He said, "why is the door locked?"
I said, "because while I was pulling Sydney off of the kitchen table, dalton went into our bathroom and was splashing in the toilet. To get in our room now you have to go outside and then through the exterior door."
He was very bothered and said, "we shouldn't have to do all of this. What do normal people do when their kids do these things?"
My reply, "NORMAL people don't have twins"!!!!

Just how big are Dalton's feet?

Poor kid. This is from Dalton's BRAND new shoes I got him. Size 6/7. Looks like he's going to be big just like his namesake! (My cousin Dalton who was the only kid on his tackle football team who was not allowed to tackle because he was so much bigger than the other kids)

piggies

Just a few cute pics I wanted to share. One of the young women in our ward is taking a photography class and needed to take a picture of a kid learning to walk. So, she asked if she could borrow Syd and Dalton. Even though they have been walking for a long time now, we tried to make it look like they needed my help. I think they turned out pretty cute. The main reason I wanted to show them is that this is the first time I put Sydney's hair in pig tails. She looked SO cute in them. She is still very blonde. It is fun to have 3 girls with 3 different colors of hair.

1st day of 2nd grade

The day after we got back from Utah the girls started school. Where did the summer go? It went by so fast! Where did the last 7 years go? How could my tiny 2 and 3 lb. babies be in the second grade? I don't like that kids grow up AT ALL! Have you heard the Taylor Swift song called Never Grow Up? Makes me cry every time.
I love these girls SO much. They are pretty close to perfect:)

Perfect New Baby

Speaking of new members of our family...
Right in the middle of the two weddings, Rachel had her baby. We are so glad to have a new boy cousin and he is ADORABLE! We were in Salt Lake when he was born so Brett went to Ogden to meet him. We were so glad that Brett could go. I was so sad to not be there but didn't want to haul my 4 kids to Odgen and try to keep them entertained in the car at the hospital.
We love you baby Kolton and can't wait to meet you!

Chance & McKenzie

One week after Jade's wedding, Chance and McKenzie got married in the Salt Lake Temple.
Here is a picture of Chance at my wedding. He also looks too young to be married. Where does the time go?
Kenzie made the CUTEST skirts, hair bows, and braclets for the girls to wear.

 Cousin Lexi holding Syd.
Sundee decorated this wedding as well and it was very elegant. She is so talented and I was amazed at how she made both weddings so beautiful and different from each other.

These were such a cute idea that I had to take a picture of them. These are things that they wrote down that they love about each other. They really are PERFECT for each other.

We Love our new Aunt Kenzie!
 Tanner taking a violin break
Syd thinks her shoe is a car to push around
 Dalton looking for trouble

My 5 cousins played the violin the whole night and it sounded BEAUTIFUL. I am always amazed at their talent.

I didn't get very many pictures because the kids were SO naughty. We couldn't keep them out of the kitchen and they were trying to pull table clothes off of tables, run out the door every time it was opened, and go around begging strangers for food. It was exhausting keeping them out of trouble.
We drove 2200 miles in 8 days for the two weddings. By the time we got home (at 4:30 in the morning after the Delta reception) we felt like we had been hit by a train. Took a few weeks to recover. We were so glad that we could be there for all of the fun and we love the two newest members of our family.
