It's official

It's offical-she's not a baby anymore. Despite our best efforts to stop her, she is walking. We are so sad.

Super Reader

I'm so proud of Saige. This week was the 4th quarter awards assembly at school and Saige was awarded the outstanding student award for her class and also the end of year reading award (that is awarded to 3 first grade students out of a hundred). She read 56 books totaling 243,919 words. I'm pretty sure that is more words than I've read in my entire life-I'm not kidding either!

Newport Beach-Girls Trip!

I was SO SO SO fortunate to be able to get away for 4 days to meet my Mom and Sister in Newport Beach for the weekend. Let me just say that I have the BEST husband who would take a day off (which he NEVER does) and take all 4 kids for the whole weekend. I have had so many people in my ward comment on how lucky I am.
We had the best time spending time together. We rented bikes for the day, and laughed a ton, and read by the pool, and shopped, and ate, and SLEPT! It was AMAZING! I also love that every time we are together someone thinks that our mom is our sister. She is so young and cute and fun to be with. Can't wait til next time. Where should we go? If you have any suggestions, let me know in the comments.

Swim team 2012

Swim team has started again. It is much better this year, now that we know how things work. Madi DID NOT want to do it again but I am SO glad that we made her. She is having fun and liking it much better this time around. They are getting so good at the strokes and are awesome divers. It is so fun to see them dive off of the blocks. I'm so proud of them. They have lots of friends on the team this year and that makes it really fun. I will post videos of them later.

Hiding

I was in the office and Sydney started SCREAMING! I went running and could not find her! She had climbed into the toy basket and couldn't get out. She didn't like being there.

Miracles

Saige and I went to Costco a few weeks ago and they were taking donations for the Children's Miracle Network. The cashier asked if we wanted to donate a dollar and I answered, "Nope. I'd like to donate two!" (One for Madi and one for Saige.)
I always do this to support causes that take care of premature babies because we were so well taken care of when Madi and Saige were in the NICU. I was also so happy to get this picture of Saige. She was my 'tiniest one', weighing in at a whopping 2 lbs. 11 oz. Look at her now-happy, healthy, tall, smart, and beautiful. I am so thankful for the miracles in my life.

Green Beans

This video is so funny to me because there is an old home video of my Dad when he was about 5. My Grandma is force feeding him green beans and he is crying! It is SO FUNNY. He hates green beans still so when Dalton was acting like this I had to grab the camera quick. I e-mailed it to my Dad and then called a few days later to ask if he got it. He told me that he watches it every day and his favorite part is the shivers!

Sleepy D.

Mac N Cheese

First time eating Mac and Cheese.  They were smacking their lips in between bites because I couldn't get it to them fast enough. They continued to do it after it was all gone.  Funny Kids.

Tired-again

We have had the babies on a decent sleep schedule for the past month or two. However, this week, I decided that it was time for them to start sleeping in the same room. We originally separated them because Sydney was sleeping through the night, but Dalton wasn't. Whenever he would wake up crying, it would wake her up too. So, we kept Dalton in the crib in our room and moved Syd to her room. Well, as you can see from the video below, this has been the most exciting event in their young lives.
(Listen closely (in the middle) and you can hear Dalton blowing her kisses)
I have to admit-it is cute to listen to everyday. At least for the first 30 minutes or so. After that it turns into one of them crying and screaming (usually Dalton) because the other one (usually Sydney) won't be quiet and let them go to sleep.
This has caused our schedule to be non-existant which has resulted in everyone being grumpy and tired.
And falling asleep in the most uncomfortable places.

I wish I would have taken a picture of Dalton's hand after I woke him up. It took two hours to go back to normal.
I was so quiet and gentle taking them from their highchairs to their beds. As soon as I put them both down, it was back to jumping, laughing, and being as loud as possible to get their sibling's attention.
Next time I will get them a blanket and leave them there.
Lesson learned.

I promise!

Madi and Saige have been having some fun in the back yard using some big boxes. I found this written on one of them and had to post it. It's in madi's handwriting. So funny!
