The girls had a violin recital that was a costume recital-thankfully it was also the night of our ward party at the Peterson's barn so we had to dress up anyway. The recital was ok. It was a "Bach" recital with all of the songs composed by Bach. Sarah dressed up as Bach and then would go out of the room after each song and dress up as a southern hick and then they would play fiddle songs. She had all of the students play one song together and it was really awful! Syd leaned over to me and said," What are they playing?"! Madi and Saige did so good on their songs though and this was the recital that they had to learn "Boil the Cabbage Down" for and they have done some really cool things with that since.

Quilt Tying-October 24, 2015
We always do something for a family at Christmastime and I have some fabric that needs to be used so I told Stef that we would make a quilt for whoever she decided we were giving to this year. The girls had never tied a quilt before so it was fun to teach them. They LOVED IT! They wanted to do another one right away but it takes me so long to prep it to go on the frame that it might be awhile before we get another one on. Brett was a good sport about it-totally helped. IvaDon would have been so proud! The girls are in costume because we were working on it before their costume violin recital.
Boise Corn Maze (The Farmstead MAiZE) October 22, 2015
I have wanted to go to a corn maze FOREVER! I've never been to one before and so I made Brett promise to take us this year. They have a great one in Meridian just off of the freeway so we found some time and went up. It was a Peter Pan theme this year but they do an elaborate one every year. It's pretty amazing to me how they do that. It was fun and I am so glad that we went but I don't think I need to do it again. The kids loved all of the other activities they had there and it was a fun activity to do as a family. A great way to get excited about Fall. One thing I remember about it is that we lost Dalton for about 10 minutes-which felt like 10 hours. It was awful! He is such a wanderer.
