What we've been up to:
Brett got a new gun safe!
I couldn't get a cut pic of them together but these are their cute new Easter outfits. Dalton's is a size 24 months. He's a big boy.
He looks SO cute in a hat!
We've been spending a lot of time outside trying to get our garden planted. The babies LOVE being outside.
Syd has some FUN & CRAZY hair!
So does Dalton!
Madi did this to him and I think he has many more years ahead of his sisters doing things like this to him.
They figured out how to open drawers and have shut their fingers in a lot already.
They hold hands almost every time they eat. It is the cutest thing ever. I wish I could get a better picture of it.
I've been taking them for rides in the bike trailer. About 1/4 mile from my house it started pulling funny and I thought I might have a flat tire. I stopped to look and this is what I found. Yep-I forgot to buckle Syd in. Go ahead and nominate me for the Best Mom Ever award!
Dalton didn't love her crawling all over him.

Dalton hasn't taken a binkie for 6 months but when I went to get him out of the car the other day I found him like this. Just another way he is JUST like Madi~she liked them for a few months and then wouldn't take them for a few again.
I seriously never thought I'd be one of 'those moms' at the grocery store.
Now I know that a full cart = a full heart!
We ran into our friend Maggie at the store and she took our picture-and laughed a lot!
Every time we go on a bike ride, Dalton grabs this strap and holds on the ENTIRE ride!
He gets shy now when I try to take his picture.
This is of Syd today. I wish they weren't so blurry but even so, she is SO STINKIN' CUTE!

"That's how we do it!"

Saige's Tricks

I am cleaning out some files today (and will be over the next few days so you may see more posts like this one) I found this letter from the Ronald McDonald Magazine that we get a few times a year. I saved this one because it has a thank you letter from my parents. I thought Madi and Saige would like to read it someday.

Symphony

Last Saturday we were able to take the girls to the Symphony. They had a guest violinist (Axel Strauss) coming to play with them. He was AMAZING. He made sounds come from the violin that I had never heard before. He played Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Violin.
It was incredible.
Unfortunately, the symphony didn't start until 8 pm, which is the time the girls normally go to bed. They were so tired that about 15 minutes into it they were asking for pillows and blankets! They fell asleep a few times but we woke them up for the good parts and I think they really enjoyed it.
The girls were so excited to see some horse statues outside of the auditorium. And they LOVED getting dressed up. I think it is fun that sometimes they want to dress exactly alike.
This is the girls' violin teacher, Elvira. We just love her and it was so fun to see her playing in the symphony. She is AMAZING herself!

We got a text from our babysitter while at the symphony with this video attached. This is what was going on a home while we were away.
Little Stinkers!

The funniest part of our night is that we got all dressed up for this event. Then, when it was almost over, I happened to touch the back of my skirt and there was melted cheese ALL over it from our dinner. HOW EMBARRASSING! I will just stick to my pjs for awhile again-no one cares if you walk around with cheese on those!

Easter Fun

We had a very nice, very quiet Easter this year. Brett made ribs on our smoker and we had artichokes out of our garden (and lots of other yummy food).

Deviled eggs taste much better when my Grandma makes them-even though it is the same recipe!
 These girls LOVE artichokes-weird.
We all fight over the heart.

The ribs were delicious-just ask Saige

Tried to get a cute outdoor picture of the kids. Nothing fancy, just wanted all to be looking at the camera at the same time. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

 Our biggest Easter surprise...
We got BABY CHICKS!

 Coloring eggs!

Growing Babies

We just had Dalton & Sydney's 9 month check up.
Here are the stats.

Dalton: 22 lbs. 1 oz. (67%)
30.3 Inches (92 %)

Sydney: 19 lbs. 3 oz. (49%)
28.5 Inches (71 %)

I hate that they are growing up so fast.

SJ

She ALWAYS has something in her mouth. Makes me nervous when she is crawling and standing up!

 She DID NOT like sunglasses!

Likes to climb in the toy more than play with it. Dalton does this too.
Look at those CHEEKS! I LOVE THEM!
This is my favorite picture of Syd. Dalton is crawling toward her and she is SO excited. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her brother!

She loves her puppy. She gets super hyper when we give it to her. She squeezes it, bites it, and then rubs its' ears in her eyes to help her fall asleep.

This little girls has loads of personality all ready.
We have sung this song to her since she was first born and she fits the description more and more each day!

(to the tune of If You're Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands)

S. Y. D. N. E. Y spells Sydney
S. Y. D. N. E. Y spells Sydney
She's cute and nice and full of lots of spice,

Random things I want to remember about her:
*She has a snorty laugh
*Fuzzy blonde hair
*Radiant blue eyes
*Laughs like Saige sometimes
*Looks SO MUCH like Saige's baby pictures
*Constantly moving-flapping arms, kicking legs, etc. Even while eating.
*Likes every food she has tried so far
*She is very patient unless she needs something-then she gets nasty fast
*Super fast crawler
*Very happy
*Has two teeth (bottom)
*Loves playing and reading with Madi and Saige
*Makes funny sounds to get Dalton's attention
*She is VERY LOUD
*Has petite features-especially her hands
*Loves to play rough with dad. She loves it when he throws her up in the air-the higher the better.

So, there’s this boy

He kind-of stole my heart

He calls me mom

Things I want to remember about Dalton:
*He used to cover his eyes with his hand while eating-like life was so stressful for him!

*Lights up when we call him BIG D
*Has BIG brown eyes
*Likes all foods but it takes him a few times to warm up to some of them
*When he sees you come into the room, he drops down on all fours and crawls toward you as fast as he can with his mouth wide open and a BIG smile. Then, when he reaches you, he buries his head into you to give you a love. (Madi used to do this too). The best is when he does it with Syd and since they both don't have control they end up banging their heads together pretty hard and crying. At least he is trying to give his sister a love, right?
*He is interested in things my girls never were. He is already trying to figure out how things work. He loves to look at the washer/dryer, won't leave my blinds alone, and can figure a way out of every corral we have made so far.
*He learned to do the milk sign in January and once he learned it, he did in constantly. He is a hungry boy!
*He does this thing with Brett-when Brett says, "Hey D-wanna play some football?" they bang their heads together. He must have a hard head because sometimes they do it pretty hard and he just laughs!
*Loves the bathtub. He gets mad when you take him out of it!
*He looks so much like Madi's baby pictures
*Loves all of his sisters.
*His hands and feet are HUGE. I mean REALLY HUGE. I am amazed at his hands every time I look at them.
*He shakes his head 'no' a lot! (doesn't do this as much any more)
*He is social, but cautious.
*Smiles all of the time
*He LOVES to stand and look out the window. Especially in the laundry room.
*When he is going to sleep, he lays on his stomach and reaches behind him with both arms to hook his blanket. Then he acts like he is burrowing into the ground. He 'digs' himself into the corner and then he hooks the bumper pad with one arm. I need to remember to get this on video-its pretty unique.

*We have a song for him too-it goes like this...

D. A. L. T. O. N. Dalton, Dalton
D. A. L. T. O. N. Dalton is his name
He likes puppy dogs, tractors, and tonka trucks
