Squirt Bottle Game

I had a funny thought the other day. We had our friends, the Phillips family, over for FHE and I was trying to think of a game we could play together. I said to Brett, have you ever played the squirt bottle game? He said no, our friends showed up, and we had dinner & FHE. Later that night, I was explaining what the squirt bottle game was. He looked at me like I was a freak and at that moment I realized just how crazy it is! This is a game that we (the whole Dalton family) played at EVERY birthday party (and there are a lot of them) and EVERY Sunday night when we were all gathered at Grandma Dalton's. So, this was a very common and fun game for me.

How it is played:
Everyone sits in a circle.
The person who is 'it' is holding a squirt bottle FULL of water. They pick a category such as holidays, colors, people in this room, months of the year, etc. For example: if they pick colors, they then have to pick one color. Let's say that they picked red. They don't tell anyone. Then they go around the room, point the squirt bottle right in your face and you have to guess which color they have chosen. If you say RED, you get sprayed in the face! The person who gets it right now becomes the sprayer and we start all over again.
If you are playing with Uncle Bryce, you will get sprayed in the face if you take too long to answer, he will point it up your nose as you guess, and no matter what you guess, he will spray you anyway-just for fun!

I could never understand as a kid why all of the adults would pick things to not be it. For holidays they would say, flag day, arbor day, etc. I couldn't figure out why they didn't want to be 'it'! Now I know-they didn't want to get sprayed in the face!
So, I have to know. Has anyone else out there ever played this game? Or am I as crazy as Brett thinks I am?!

Beginners!

A couple of years ago I stared taking violin lessons. I really didn't have much of a desire for me to learn a new instrument but I really want my girls to be involved in something that will give them some self-confidence when they get to be teenagers. Everyone I talked to about the violin said that most teachers make the moms take lessons along with their kids. So, I figured that it might be easier if I got a head start so that I could be more helpful to them when they started. Well, I found a teacher for them and she happened to have an opening right now! I had planned on starting them next year but she told me that she has kids as young as 3.
Yesterday they had their first lesson. I have to say...it was so cute! The violin they are playing is so small and cute. Hopefully I can do better at making them practice than I have at practicing myself!

San Diego

For Easter weekend we were able to go to San Diego and meet our friends (they are really more like family) the Merayos! They live in AZ now, but when we all lived in Pullman we were inseparable. We had such a great time. The weather wasn't that great but we were still able to enjoy the beach, the aquarium, Balboa Park, and spending time together. Thanks for meeting us-we miss you guys SO much!

What's General Conference without a good nap?
