AWESOME READER

Last week at school, Madisen received the AWESOME READER award for the quarter. We are so proud of her. She really is an awesome reader!

Fog Days

This has been the view from our house for 4 days straight. We have had a 3 hour fog delay for school for the last 3. It never seems to clear out. We are SO ready to see the sun again.

Basketball

A few months ago, I signed the girls up for Basketball at their school. Then, I forgot all about it with all of the madness that has been going on in our lives. They brought notes home last Friday with all of the information and that is when I remembered. They were SO mad that I had signed them up and DID NOT want to go. They complained all morning before we left (and there were a few tears as well).
The picture below shows just how excited Saige was. I kept trying to get her to smile for a picture and that is the look I got every time!
They were excited to know that they were on Brynn's team.
They all got t-shirts and balls.
Running Drills.
The guy in charge was cracking me up. He was telling the coaches that it is crucial they don't develop bad habits and that they are passing and shooting with perfect form. He reminded me SO much of Leland (only those from Dear Old Piute High will understand).
I think he forgot that these kids are in Kindergarten. I was just hoping that no one got hit in the face!
At the end of the day, the girls LOVED every minute of it. I was SO happy. They both came home and wanted to keep practicing and kept asking when they get to do it again. Of course, they now want to dribble the balls in the house all of the time. I know now why my mom hated that!

Yo, Adrien!

I love the Rocky movies. I always have. I love it when the underdog wins-in any sport. I love when all the odds are against someone, and they triumph anyway.
My favorite movie of the series is Rocky 4. Remember that crazy russian on steroids? Check out how much bigger he is than Stallone. I know it's just a movie but I cheer out loud when Rocky beats him. Can't you just hear the theme song playing?

The reason for this post?
I feel like Rocky.
I am pregnant with twins.
Again.
And I feel like an underdog.
I feel like all of the odds are stacked against me. I am unsure if I have the ability to step into that ring again. I would post a picture of myself but the following shows just as well how I am feeling (minus those amazing abs-of course!).
I have been SO sick, so tired, such an emotional train wreck. I cannot believe I am facing bed rest, the NICU, and taking care of infant twins again. I feel too old, too tired, too worn out. I hope that somehow, like Rocky, I will be able to suck it up, get back in the ring, and be able to win.
Most of all, I hope to have this Rocky moment...
Now, I just need my own soundtrack!

P.S.-This post is not meant to sound ungrateful or negative. We are so excited after all we have been through to be able to add to our family-we are just very overwhelmed!

So Proud

I had a VERY proud mom moment recently. Saige was invited to a birthday tea party. It was a fun party and the girls got to dress up, have their hair and nails done, and then had a very fancy tea party.
After Saige got dressed she came out and I said, "Saige-you look SO pretty!"
She said, "Do you know why I picked this dress?"
I said, "because it's pretty?"
She said, "Nope-because it was the only one that was modest."
I was so proud that I was having a hard time not tearing up right in front of the other moms. She was absolutely right. ALL the other dresses were spaghetti straps, etc.
THEN-they started serving real tea to these 6 year old girls. I was about to step in and then I heard Saige say, "I don't drink tea. Can I just have some water?"
It was AWESOME. I only hope that at 16 she is still saying things like this. I couldn't be more proud of her!

Christmas 2010

We had a very nice Christmas. I am SO sad it is over and we have to wait another year for it to come around again. We were so lucky to be able to go home for 9 days and see both families (especially that Brett was able to be there the ENTIRE time).
We were very excited to be able to see the snow (and the girls were so excited to play in it)
Brett and Hansen Man in his CUTE owl hat
We had a special visitor at Grandma Remund's! It was AWESOME! We had so much fun.
This was the highlight for me! We were able to not only talk to Chance on Christmas but we were able to Skype with him and SEE HIM! It was the best Christmas present ever. We all cried but he smiled the ENTIRE time! I have never seen him happier. 10 months left! Also, in the past 2 days, both Chile and Circleville have had earthquakes. Pretty crazy. Saige is convinced they are related!

Girls in their giggle goggles. These things are pretty funny and they have provided hours of entertainment!
These pics are from our Dalton Christmas party. We had an ugly sweater contest and my dad won! The best part is is that he went to the basement and found this sweater all on his own! He even found a matching one for my mom! I think they came from when they used to sell potatoes on the reservation.
Ashtin's was hillarious-it had cats and mice all over it. They won gift cards to go buy new sweaters.
This Christmas season also brought with it my 30th birthday. Not so excited about that but Stef made me this AWESOME birthday cake! She decorated it in about 15 minutes and it was homemade red velvet cake-DELICIOUS!! She is going to start a business so if you want a custom cake, give her a call!
