Bee Sting

My girls are really scared of bees and I've always told them that they don't need to be because I'm sure a stung wouldn't hurt THAT bad. That was before I got stung!
I was getting in my car this summer and when I went to shut the door I felt a terrible pinch in my armpit. Then the sting intensified and I looked down and saw a bee hanging out of my armpit! I ripped it out and tried to be brave because all of my kids were in the car watching me. Thankfully I didn't swear or anything! But as I drove home the pain got worse and within a few minutes my arm went hot and got a bit swollen and red. I did get stung by a wasp once when I was a kid when my dad was building our house. I was playing in what is now our dining room and there was a wasp nest in the corner in the ceiling and one flew down and stung me. It hurt but I think the bee sting was worse. Probably good it happened to me so that I will be more sympathetic to my kids when it happens to them.
If you look close enough you can see a little white dot that is part of the stinger

I think I might be a bit allergic. It hurt and looked like the picture above for a week.

Swim Team 2013

It seems odd to be blogging about swim team in the winter but I am so far behind (again)!
Madi and Saige were on the swim team again this year (3 years now) and they really liked it this year (as opposed to the first year when I had to force them). They made MAJOR improvements this year and I'm so proud of them. They worked so hard and gave it their all at every meet. We went to practice every day at 7am and we went to most of the meets. It was a lot of fun. I loved watching them-my heart would race so fast when they got up on the blocks. So it was a good workout for me too!
WE LOVE RBG SWIM!

I love watching the girls dive off of the blocks. They are such great divers.

We were so glad the Harrison's were able to come to the Taft meet. Thanks to Powell for all the great pics! It was SO hot that day.

We were So excited for Saige for earning a bronze cap. So was SO excited and worked so hard for it. Madi was SO close to earning one, which proves that hundreths of seconds really do matter in swimming.
Pictures below are from the County Championship meet at Taft High.
