First Stroll

We decided that it was time to get outside for a minute. Besides doctors appointments, this was the babies first time out of the house. We weren't out long. It was too hot!

I need to do a big shout out to my friend Elizabeth who let me borrow this stroller (and her crib, and her multiples pregnancy books, etc). So thankful to her!

Big Sisters

I had to do a post about this picture. Dalton peed out of his diaper and it got on Madisen. She said that all of the sudden she felt wet and warm. So, she went and changed her clothes and I changed his diaper. She came out of her room, picked him up and the SAME THING happened AGAIN! It was hilarious! She still loves her little brother very much. She tells him all of the time that he is the cutest boy in the whole world. I agree.

She also tells him all of the time that she is his mother. I have to set her straight about that one.

Love these girls SO much. I can't say it enough. They are SO helpful and I don't know how I would do this without them.

Independence Day

Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite holiday is (BY FAR) Independence Day. That is, when I am in Circleville it is my favorite holiday. When I can't go to Circleville, it is my least favorite holiday. This is embarrassing but I seriously cry every year that I can't be there. My uncle Lon even called this year to rub it in that I wasn't there. He called to let me know what a great time everyone was having-how rude! I told him that I would rather just be able to get 4-5 hours of sleep in a row than be there-I was lying of course! We have so many fun traditions in my family. Last year I couldn't go because I had to teach Relief Society and we also were leaving for Hawaii just a few days later. At that time I promised my girls that we would be in Circleville the next year NO MATTER WHAT. I didn't expect that I would be having twins again just two weeks before so I had to break my promise. There were many tears shed-not just by me. :)

Anyway, we tried to make it fun at our house this year by making homemade dry ice rootbeer. We had fun and we were glad the Phillips family could join us. It was good, but not as good as Grandma Anns homemade BOTTLED root beer. 

 I LOVE this picture of Trevor. He is such a fun kid. My favorite is when he sings all the little background noises in the song, "Tonight's gonna be a good night"!

Next year...we will be in CV-NO MATTER WHAT!

Tough Guy

This picture makes me want to cry but I had to post about my tough little guy. This is him waiting to be circumcised. He was SO brave. He flinched a little when they gave the shot to numb him and then he never made a peep. Thats right...he never cried. He sucked on his pacifier as hard as he possibly could but never made a sound. I was so proud of him.

They both sleep so much better when they are wrapped like this. Brett is THE BEST at wrapping them up. Makes me feel very claustrophobic! We call Dalton Houdini because he can get out sometimes. His latest thing is that he lifts his legs really high in the air and then slams them down on the crib mattress over and over again. This allows him to get out after awhile. He was doing it this morning (Sept 16) at 4 am-I couldn't quit laughing! He is going to have some awesome stomach muscles.

He can also get his hands out of those cuffs that make it so they can't scratch their face, which is why he looks like this...

I sent this picture to Stef and she texted back, "Is Dalton sleeping with a cat?"

I replied, "Nope-just his big sister"!

Sydney has elf looking ears. The following story with show you the difference in Madi and Saige:

Saige noticed them first and said, "Mom, Sydney's ears look like elf ears."

I said, "I know, they are cute huh?"

She said, "Yep! They are AWESOME"!

When Madi saw them she said, "Mom. Sydney has elf ears. (In a super concerned voice)...Is she going to get made fun of at school?"

First Swim!

Our new stroller/bike trailer (with the wrong set of twins inside)!
We had a double stroller when the girls were little. We moved it 3 times from place to place and when we finally bought our house I told Brett that it was time to get rid of it because even if we did have another baby, we would not be having twins and wouldn't need a double stroller. I should know not to say things like that. It's the same thing as when I said (just before graduating from vet school) that I would live anywhere west of the Mississippi river but not in California. Well, here we are. Never say never. How many times will I do this before I learn my lesson?

1st week home

Our first week home was exhausting but we were SO happy to bring our babies home and not have to leave them in the NICU. We had lots of fun visitors. I'm so thankful to everyone who came.

Dalton got a special surprise from Grandpa Dalton. My grandpa started a tradition a long time ago that he would give money to the baby boys born in our family so they could invest it for their missions. My dad wanted to keep the tradition going. Good thing for him that he only has one grandson so far!

A quick note about my dad-when we first found out that we were having a boy and a girl someone said to me, "I bet your dad will be so happy to have a grandson".

My reply was that I didn't think he would be any more excited to have a boy than a girl. He is SO cute with all of his granddaughters. He loves them and they couldn't love him more! He takes them out on the farm when we go home and sometimes they are with him ALL day.

We found out that the boppie (this one is called, "My Breast Friend-twin size") has many purposes. It can be used as a pretend snow sled (above) or a hula hoop (below)!

Mia LOVED baby Syd-en-nee.

She wanted NOTHING to do with Dalton because he is a boy. I put a cute turquoise onesie on Syd one day and Mia couldn't take it. She said, "Sydney needs PINK"!

One day Mia wanted to hold Sydney but she was super hungry. I said, "Let me feed her first."

She said, "I will feed her". Then she lifted up her shirt!

She also says lots of prayers for Sydney and says, "Please bless Sydney that she can me in my family."

If I ever lose Syd I know the first place I will look!
