Go Dodgers!

July 13, 2012

Brett works with another vet who has season tickets to the Dodgers. My friend Laurel is a BIG Padres fan so he asked if he could buy the tickets for when the Dodgers played them. We had such a fun time and the seats were AMAZING! We were right by 3rd base and there were a lot of foul balls hit by us. We stayed to the fireworks show afterwards and they were amazing as well. Then, on the way home, we stopped in Valencia for a treat and we found our new favorite frozen yogurt place called Menchies. They had a honeydew melon flavor that tasted JUST like the Melona bars in Hawaii. It was so much fun to be with good friends and no kids for the night.

Summer garden

We were able to do a garden again this summer since i'm not pregnant and we didn't have newborn twins. Even still I wasn't much help. Brett did a great job and we got so much food. My favorite thing this year was our peaches! Our trees produced around 150 peaches this year and I was SO excited! We had peach cobbler, peaches and cream, and I was able to bottle 10 jars. The last round of them came on just as we were leaving so I picked every last one and took them to circleville. My dad LOVES peaches. I hope we get as many or more next year.
I'm not sure what order these pictures will be in, because I'm blogging from my phone, but one is of some amazing bruschetta that Maggie taught us to make. It's my new favorite thing to make with tomatoes. I also bottled a bunch of salsa and tomatoes. It's a pain and mess to do but do fun to have when all the work is done.
There is also a picture of one of the craziest tomatoes I've ever seen. I call it the 'octotomato'!
Gotta go plant our winter garden!!
More climbing today. I found her this morning standing on the kitchen table while I was trying to get the girls ready for school. Now this. I've had to move the bar stools out if the kitchen because they learned how to tip them over.

This morning I thought it would be nice for them to spend some time outside before it got too hot. So I took them out at 7:30. By 8:00 I had them both in the tub because they got all muddy in the garden, chicken poop on their feet, and Dalton found a leak in our garden irrigation and was soaking wet. He had a great time and they were SO mad at me when I drug them into the bathroom. Kicking and screaming. This is a hard age with twins.

Wish I could build a padded room to put them in!

Alike

I know I have mentioned how Dalton and Madi are a lot alike but I don't know if I have said much about how Saige and Sydney are alike too. They used to have very similar looks (which I think are fading). They are built just they same and the way Sydney acts at this age reminds me so much of when Saige was this age. Both are fearless. I happened to catch this picture yesterday and I knew I had one just like it of Saige. Where do babies learn to climb? Guess I will be getting the crib tents out again soon!

BIRTHDAY FLASHBACK

I thought it would be fun to do a post of Madi and Saige's first birthday to compare pictures. I cannot believe how much Madi and Dalton look alike. They have the same expressions too. It is so fun to watch them together. Syd used to look more like Saige but it is getting less and less all of the time. We actually found a baby picture the other day of Jade and he looks SO much like her. I will have to try later to scan it and post it too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Dalton and Sydney celebrated their first birthday in June! We didn’t do much to celebrate. After all-they are one and don’t even know that their birthday came and went. The girls and I made a cute birthday banner and we gave them a cupcake to eat in their highchairs. They weren’t really into it and we had to show them how yummy they were. Even after that, they just acted really confused.

They got some fun presents. Thanks to everyone!

 We LOVE our glow bugs

We took them swimming for their birthday. I wanted to do this because we took Madi and Saige swimming for the first time on their birthday. We had a friend in Pullman who worked at one of the hotels and she let us in on Thanksgiving day. It wasn't Syd and Dalton's first time but I wanted to do it anyway.

The best part about their birthday for me was that I don't look like this anymore!
My whole body hurts from just looking at these pictures!
Yikes!
