Snow Fun!
Thanks BN, LaDawn, Stef, and Shad for letting us come up to the cabin for some sledding fun. We were so excited to finally see some snow this year!
We are in Utah watching my little bro. play b-ball and my girls are suddenly interested in cheerleading. We were in the bathroom washing our hands at the gym and a Milford cheerleader walked in. Madisen said, "look mom-there is a 'chill' leader. She is SO beautiful!"These videos are of Saige dancing along with the cheerleaders. I think she is pretty coordinated-she was following the moves exactly. When we get back to Bakersfield I think we will be starting dance classes!

Sweet Baby Mia!
This past weekend I was FINALLY able to go see my new little niece Mia. She was born before Christmas and this was the first time we were able to go see her. Not a very good Aunt-I know! I will make up for it later when I spoil her rotten with gifts and let her eat lots of treats and stay up late at my house. Sometimes it is much more fun being an aunt than a mom!
Here she is-ADORABLE!

She is the sleepiest baby I have ever heard of. Stef is so lucky!

Look at those eyes.

Have you ever seen anyone look this good after just having a baby?
Stef, you are beautiful!
So exciting to have a new cousin!
You never stop being a Mom
For those of you moms who think that once your kids are grown up and have families of their own you get to stop taking care of them, I am living proof that you are wrong. I am almost 30 years old and my mom still has to come and take care of me whenever anything goes wrong.
Thanks SO MUCH mom for coming to take care of us this week after my surgery. We would not have survived without you.
Reasons we love Grandma:
She brings us pretty flowers.

She made us yummy treats and let us lick the bowls!

She snuggled with us and let us watch movies.

We miss you already Grammy!

No more snoring like an old man!
On New Year's Eve, Madisen had her tonsils out and she did SO GREAT! I am so proud of her. I cannot believe how well she has handled it. Brett and I watched 4 kids go out of the surgery center screaming and coughing and we thought, "this is going to be a very long day". We were only there for about 2 hours and when she came out of anesthesia she was moaning and said, "am I done? can I go home now?" When we came home she slept for 2 hours. After that, she acted pretty normal. She hasn't needed much Tylenol, she was singing (loudly) the next day and playing like normal. The nurse told us that it is completely normal for them to throw up after surgery. When we got home she started complaining that her stomach hurt. I told her to go a head and throw up and that the doctor said that she would feel better if she did. She said, "I don't want to throw up-my tummy hurts because I am so hungry!"
She is already breathing SO much better and sleeping so much better. She hardly snores now. We are wishing she would have had it done a year ago. I really think she is going to start sleeping better now-thank heavens!
The craziest part was getting her blood drawn the day before. I am so thankful Brett went with me because he had to completely restrain her. When she couldn't use her arms and legs as weapons anymore, she started spitting at the nurse who was trying to find her vein. When we got home, Madi went right to Saige and told her that she had to get her blood drawn. They had a little pow wow together away from everyone else and as Madi was telling her the story, Saige started scowling in our direction. When they were done talking, Saige wouldn't talk to Brett or I for about 2 hours. They are so protective of each other. I love it.
A special thanks goes out to the Remunds & Harrisons for being here to help with Saige while we were doing all of this. Thanks so much for driving all this way to see us. We sure love ya!
Christmas
We had such a nice Christmas-Santa (and Grandmas) spoiled us rotten! Sorry to our families that this has taken me such a long time to post. Hopefully the next post will explain why.
I just hate when Christmas is over and really do wish the Christmas season would last all year round. Saige wasn't too happy about it ending either. The day we took down the tree she was so mad at us. She started yelling, "You have let Christmas down. It is all ruined. Christmas is ruined!" Then she stormed off to her room to pout for awhile.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we can't wait for it to come around again in 2009! Happy New Year!
