Christmas 2014

We had such a fun Christmas. We got up and opened WAY TOO MANY presents. Then we played with them for awhile before having Crepes for Breakfast. It is a tradition in my family to do omelets for Christmas breakfast but with Saige being allergic to eggs  (they bother Brett too) we decided to make something she could eat. They were delish.
Dad trying to teach Dalton how his walkie-talkies work.

Dalton got a tool set from Charli.

Syd giving us a fishy face.

Dalton with his Crepe and egg nog. Check out that mustache-awesome! I made 3 batches of egg nog-our chickens laid eggs all winter and that is my favorite way to use them!
Syd got wikki sticks and put them all over her new doll bed-sigh!
Grandpa helping Saige with the sewing project she got. It was funny to watch! He was telling her all about how he had to take home ec when he was a kid. He was much better at it than I would have guessed. Grandma had to help too when things got a bit tricky.
Syd got a whole bunch of Mia's old clothes. She was SO excited about everything! She was modeling everything for us.
Tricks with a tricky grandpa. Flips and swinging in a blanket.

We played settlers a TON. It is so fun now that the girls can play with us. Saige even won one of the rounds. Madi like to buy as many development cards as she can. Drive my dad and I nuts!
Brett got called out a few times during one of the game on Christmas day. One of the calls was for a guinea pig. We laughed and laughed about that.
I don't have a picture of it but Syd got a puzzle that she needed help on. We set it up on our brown table. She lost interest really fast so dad and I finished it. It was complicated even for us and it turned into a race to see who could finish their section first. It was funny.

We played Rook a lot too!

Syd trying on Grandma's Santa hat.

Snow clothes!
The girls got Clue-Master Detective for Christmas. So much better than regular clue. My siblings and I grew up playing it and we love it. So, I found it used on amazon and had to buy it. Lots of fun.

Syd and her haul.
Dalton set up his train set that he got a few years ago and lined up all of his cars to watch. He called it the parking lot.

His cool new track-hoe makes a pretty good train tunnel!

Christmas Eve-2014

This year I go the best birthday present EVER! My door bell rang around 5 pm and this is what I found on the porch. I was SO SO SO SO SO SO excited!
My week had not been going well. We had been having septic tank problems. We couldn't use the water/toilets for a couple days and a couple of the kids had diarrhea. It was rough. I remember thinking on the 23rd that all I wanted for my birthday was to be able to flush the toilets! I could have never been a pioneer. Dalton still asks {every time} he uses the bathroom if he can flush and it's been months!
Anyway...to say I was excited is an understatement. I needed them to come and here they were! Mom even brought a ton of enchiladas left over from the family Christmas party so we had those to eat while they were here. I'm so thankful they came.
Dalton didn't waste any time showing Grandpa his Things That Go book.
Syd loves her GRAMMY!
Opening our Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve

And Slippers.

Madi showing Grandma the cute doll clothes she gave her for her birthday.
Brett surprised me BIG TIME for my birthday. He brought in a small box and said Happy Birthday. I thought he was trying to trick me. I honestly thought there would be a bullet inside because I told him I wanted a gun! I opened it up to find a RING. A BIG SHINNY RING! I never in my life thought he would buy me jewelry. The big diamond in the middle is one that his Grandparent's owned. One time when he was home his Aunt Renae told him that because he was the one who had to put up with Grandpa on the farm he could have the biggest one. He took it to a jeweler and designed a ring for me. What a fun surprise!
The pictures don't even do it justice. It is SO sparkly!
The other fun things that we did on Christmas Eve are the Christmas Jar. We could hardly see where we were going because the wind was blowing so hard and it was snowing a bit so it was blowing snow everywhere-making it impossible to see. Luckily the people weren't home so we didn't get caught.
It was not supposed to snow and I kept telling the kids that to not get their hopes up for snow but it did snow that night. Dalton especially was so excited. The girls were saying things like, "Why do we live in Idaho if it isn't even going to snow on Christmas Eve"!
Chase and Gloria and the Frampton's came over to light off some illegal fireworks in our front yard. That was fun and exciting!

Here are my birthday cards:
