Christmas Eve-2014

This year I go the best birthday present EVER! My door bell rang around 5 pm and this is what I found on the porch. I was SO SO SO SO SO SO excited!
My week had not been going well. We had been having septic tank problems. We couldn't use the water/toilets for a couple days and a couple of the kids had diarrhea. It was rough. I remember thinking on the 23rd that all I wanted for my birthday was to be able to flush the toilets! I could have never been a pioneer. Dalton still asks {every time} he uses the bathroom if he can flush and it's been months!
Anyway...to say I was excited is an understatement. I needed them to come and here they were! Mom even brought a ton of enchiladas left over from the family Christmas party so we had those to eat while they were here. I'm so thankful they came.
Dalton didn't waste any time showing Grandpa his Things That Go book.

Brett surprised me BIG TIME for my birthday. He brought in a small box and said Happy Birthday. I thought he was trying to trick me. I honestly thought there would be a bullet inside because I told him I wanted a gun! I opened it up to find a RING. A BIG SHINNY RING! I never in my life thought he would buy me jewelry. The big diamond in the middle is one that his Grandparent's owned. One time when he was home his Aunt Renae told him that because he was the one who had to put up with Grandpa on the farm he could have the biggest one. He took it to a jeweler and designed a ring for me. What a fun surprise!
The pictures don't even do it justice. It is SO sparkly!
The other fun things that we did on Christmas Eve are the Christmas Jar. We could hardly see where we were going because the wind was blowing so hard and it was snowing a bit so it was blowing snow everywhere-making it impossible to see. Luckily the people weren't home so we didn't get caught.
It was not supposed to snow and I kept telling the kids that to not get their hopes up for snow but it did snow that night. Dalton especially was so excited. The girls were saying things like, "Why do we live in Idaho if it isn't even going to snow on Christmas Eve"!
Chase and Gloria and the Frampton's came over to light off some illegal fireworks in our front yard. That was fun and exciting!

Here are my birthday cards:

What an exciting Christmas. I did know your parents were coming before you did just because they stopped here in Hurricane to pick up a package. So I knew you would be so happy and nobody in your family knew they were coming early. Love all the cute pjs.
