Cabin 2013

I decided that I would make the long trek to the cabin this year. Brett was job hunting in Wisconsin so I took all 4 kids by myself and it turned out to be quite the adventure.
Every year on the weekend before thanksgiving, my mom's family gets together at a cabin west of Minersville, Ut. Basically in the middle of NOWHERE!! I don't get there very often because I live so far away and they usually only stay one night. After Grandma's funeral Aunt Renae gave us all a big speech about how if we don't all make an effort to get together now we will never see each other. I told her that the problem for me with the cabin is that I can't drive 10 hours for one night so they decided to extend it to 2 nights this year. At that point I was committed.
Thankfully I was able to stay a night in Vegas to break it up a bit and since Stef was working and Mia's soccer game got rained out we took Mia with us. Stef also gave us all haircuts while we were there. We love her for that.
Saige got really brave and told Stef to chop it off.

Madi thought Saige was crazy until she saw how cute it was. Then she did it too!
Our little princesses!

Syd wanted to play too.

Dalton had SO much fun with this orange  van. He played with it the Whole Time!
This is how much stuff my parents brought. For ONE NIGHT! Camp chefs, Dutch ovens, sleeping bags and bedding for all of us, food, etc!
The best part was when my van got stuck in the snow and my dad had to pull me AND the trailer up the hill. It's always an adventure.
Syd and dalton were SO nice to grandpa Dave. It was so cute and unexpected because they don't like a lot of people.

Bailey reading bedtime stories. I thought it was so cute of her to come even though jade couldn't get off work.

Uncle Rex taking a break from all of the fun.
My sickie Saige. Ugh. We had a rough trip. She threw up the first night we were there. Just once but didn't feel good the whole time. Then...on the 2nd night madi threw up ALL night. It felt like a hundred times. The generator was turned off so Kenzie followed me down the stairs each time to hold the flashlight for me while I washed out the puke bowl. It was a Long night and I never got to sleep. Then had to drive all the way back to CA the next day. It was rough. Thankfully we picked Brett up at the Vegas airport and he was able to drive us from there.
Michelle brought a fun game and was so cute to help the babies play it.

These babies love their grandpa.
Syd is always good for a laugh. She says the nuttiest things!

Poor chance had to study organic chemistry the whole time and this is my favorite picture because it looks like he is studying so intensely but if you look close enough you can see he is asleep!

Headbands game

Aunt Laurie and cache
Syd casting a magic spell on chance. She LOVES chance.
Most of us together.

The boys went out and cut us a Christmas tree to hang out crafts (ornaments) on.
Them we played some pretty elaborate "minute to win it" games that she came up with. It was fun but hard with all the little kids.

Rudolf!

Reading with grandpa.

My view from my air mattress when laying by my sick girls. The worst part about that was it was their birthday! I make them each a pan of rice crispies. They blew out their candles and them I threw both pans away because they couldn't eat them and I doubt anyone else wanted to after the blew all their germs on them.
Mia lost her 1st tooth in the car on the way home! It was very exciting and I was so worried she would loose it before we got home to show her mom! Stef was pretty sad she wasn't there when she lost it.

I decided on our next trip these guys can ride on top!

Oh my gosh - I will never understand why kids get sick every time you travel. Seriously. I feel like that is us every time we travel and I only have one kid! Glad the kids had fun still even though they were sick and you didn't get any sleep. Love the new haircuts and the dress ups!

I really loved the haircuts and the princess dresses. The view of the back of Saige's curled hair was beautiful. All the kids were cute. Now explain to me if Uncle Rex has on two different colored socks or boots or whatever. Just fun to see the flavor of each individual. Glad you were able to go but alot of work for you.
