Anniversary

The main reason Chance and Kenzie came was to babysit for us so that we could go to Santa Barbara. We have been married 13 years and have never really done anything to celebrate our other anniversaries. We decided it was time for us to do something!
We had such a fun couple days. Santa Barbara is BEAUTIFUL. The trees/plants there are so amazing. It is like you are in another world and the landscape reminded me so much of Hawaii.

I love 'birds of paradise'. I think they are the coolest flowers.
We ate lunch at Baja Sharkeez. It was a mexican restaurant that was so cheap and delicious.
Brett feeling like he's back in England!
The pics below are from the Santa Barbara Courthouse. It was such a cool place. We went on a tour. The gardens were amazing-I guess they have a lot of weddings there.

This was the law library in the courthouse and the Picture below is the ceiling in that room. The architecture was so neat.
It felt very much like a medieval castle inside.

We went up inside this clock tower and it had a great view of the city.
This is what was happening at home while we were away. The babies fell in love with "Chancy". Especially Syd. She doesn't like a whole lot of people so this is a very big deal. She still says, "Chancy-wuv you"

Chance & Kenzie

Chance and Kenzie were our first summer visitors! They came in May right after Chance finished his finals. The first thing we did when they got her was we went to the girls' track meet at school. It was a HOT day and we actually missed most of their events but it is always fun to go see them at school with all of their friends.

Babies were pretty good as long as we fed them jelly beans. That is their favorite treat.

The pic above is actually from another time that they came to see us but I had to add it. Look at how much fun they are having.

We took the boat out and had a great time. Chance and Kenzie rode the tube forever and had so much fun. We couldn't tip them both over but we got Chance off a few times.

First Boat Trip

These pics are from our first time taking the boat out. The girls loved the tube and even tried water skiing! They both got up a couple times. We had to twist Madi's arm to do it and I am glad we stuck with her because the last time we went she did AWESOME! They are both getting better and better all of the time.

Pismo/Solvang

Brett and I were able to go to a vet conference in Pismo Beach one weekend in April or May. I can't remember back that far! It was only 24 hours but we had a good time and ate some REALLY good food. There is an Italian restaurant named Guiseppi's and it was some of the best food I have ever had. Delicious! I didn't take many pictures but here are the 4 I did take!

We were only in Solvang for a couple of hours. It was a cute little place but if you aren't there for the wine tastings there isn't a whole lot to do! We did find some yummy bakeries. Our vacations are always centered around the food!

Violin Recital

The girls had a violin recital back in April. They did so well and they are getting to be so grown up. They chose the same Easter dresses which I think is fun. Sometimes they like to dress exactly the same. I think it is fun. I haven't made them dress the same much so I like it when they choose to do so.

Girl Time

While Martha was here I was able to go to Stef's for a couple of days for some much needed girl time. My mom and my grandma also came so I got to spend some time with them as well. It was SO much fun! We were very lazy and that was just what I needed. We ate at some fun restaurants and also did a bit of shopping. We took my grandma to MAC for a make-over, which was really fun. Mia took the pictures below so they are a bit blurry but I wanted to post them anyway since they are all I have from the weekend. Thanks Martha for watching the kids so I could get away!
