Olsens Visit!

We were SO lucky in June because Tom, Kelsi, and Charli came to visit us from Iowa. We love when they come because we all have so much fun together. The following blog post is from Kelsi (THANKS SO MUCH FOR LETTING ME STEAL IT-as well as some others in the future).

The girls did some leg wrestling which was on our to do list. It was pretty entertaining to watch!


Wednesday night we went to the Hubble's Theater. They let people come to their house to watch movies in their cinema room. You wouldn't believe this place! It has a snack bar just like the movies, candy in the glass and a popcorn maker and a soda dispenser. They had binders of movies to choose from. We watched Jamanji and the girls had never seen it before. It was really fun!

Sunday, June 3 - Monday, June 4, 2012

Sunday we went to church, relaxed and played some board games and croquet. We got right to work on the "Kelsi's To Do List" that the girls had made prior to them coming. We pretty much completed it over the weeks time and added some to it! It was so fun each day to look at what we were going to accomplish from the list. I still can't believe that we got it all done!


We swam, played a lot of croquet, ate lots of good food, played board games & the wii and enjoyed spending time together. I especially loved watching the little ones interact.

Brett was smoking some pork and the tray fell in and the hot grease came down on his leg and burned it. He ran into the pool to cool it off but I got a good before and after picture. Looks like it killed!

Charli decided while we were in CA that she loved the Bumbo again even though she was to big for it. She kept sitting in it all day and laughing and doing funny things. More pics to come on another post with her in the Bumbo!

Swim Team

We had such a great experience with Swim Team this year. The girls had much better attitudes about it. Last year they told me that I had ruined their summer and Madisen told me she never wanted to do it again. Brett told them that if they didn't complain this year he would take them to 7 peaks. 

They are such great swimmers and ended up with lots of ribbons and medals. Saige got a gold, silver, and bronze for the backstroke (her specialty). Madi got a gold in butterfly (she is a rockstar at butterfly), silver in backstroke, and bronze in freestyle. They are my two little fish and I am hoping that the swim team will help them teach my youngest to be fish as well. They are SO good at diving and starting off of the blocks. I love them so much and I am so proud of them. 

Last Day of 1st Grade

The girls made it through 1st grade. They loved their teachers and friends and we are so happy with the school they are attending. They have a fun end-of-year tradition. The entire school (K-8) gets together to sing the "moving up song" There is a verse for each grade and when they get done singing their verse, they move up to the spot for the next grade. The kids love it and it was fun this year because Brett, the babies, and I all went out. It was hot, but fun.

From the front door...

I'm going to make an attempt to re-enter the blogging world so I will start with a funny story.
A few weeks ago the Schwann man knocked on my door. Whenever anyone comes to the door all my kids come running. Dalton and Syd were in the living room (locked in the corral) and Madi and Saige ran to the door with me. I opened the door and he took one look in my house and said, "that's so cool that you have your own daycare"!
I said, "actually, they are all mine". Then I had to answer the typical twin questions. Then, without ordering anything, I shut the door and started cleaning up the toys to try to make it look like we live in a 'normal' house.

My cousin Loni had a similar experience with the ups man. He knocked on her door and he asked her if her mom was home. She is married and has a little boy!
