My mom has been wanting us to come to the Bryce Canyon Music Camp for as long as they have been doing it. We finally signed Madi and Saige up this year. I wasn't really sure what to expect and the girls were SO MAD at me for making them do it. They were very nervous and just wanted to spend time in CV. Their first class was with Terry Durbin and after that 1st hour they were begging to let them come back again next year. They LOVED it and we all had a really good time. The girls even met some new friends.
A pretty shot of the Cannonville area from the car.
Movement class. They didn't love this one but I thought it was good for them and I liked the teacher a lot. She was an extremely talented pianist. She was from New York. They learned a lot about tempo and counting music with movement and I thought it was really beneficial.
They had fun activities each day-one of the days was swimming at Ruby's Inn. The girls had so much fun with their friends. They love being in the water.
The girl on the right is Sadie. Her dad is from Beaver and her mom is from Cannonville. They had a lot of fun with her. On like the 3rd day Madi came running up to me and said,
"Mom-Sadie is a mormon"!!!!
I laughed my head off. They are so used to being the only ones most of the time. When I told them that most of the kids at the camp were mormons they were shocked.
This is Abby M. She rode with us that day and I thought this was the coolest picture of her jumping!
We had to get a picture in front of the sign for Aunt Stefi. She worked here in High School.
PAPAGEINO!
Madi hated acting out this play. Thought it was super embarrassing!
I didn't get a picture of him but Tanner Dalton was there too so that was fun to get to watch him play.
So this is Terry Durbin and he was really the highlight of the camp. He is from Kentucky and he took lessons for a little while from Dr. Suzuki. He is extremely talented and fun for the kids. During their first class I had only been in there like 5 minutes and he was driving me nuts. I thought there is no way I am going to be able to listen to this guy all week. By the end of the hour I was thinking "this guy is a freaking genius". The kids were totally engaged and they had a love for music and the violin. I hope he comes back next year. His violin is a carbon fiber one that is basically indestructible. It was awesome.
This teacher was from Boston. She was the technique teacher. She had some really good tips.
My mom's teacher Megan was our Master Class teacher. She is so cute-LOVE her. The girls really liked her too.
Just some pics of the last day in front of BV High School.
We stopped at the entrance to Bryce Canyon one day took let the girls look around for a bit. It was pretty sad drive by it every day and not go in for a hike but we didn't have time-our days were packed and the 2 hour drive each day really took it out of us!
